Ellen Nickerson, AVID Head of Teaching & Learning,  brings expertise in AVID, professional learning, curriculum, and instruction to her leadership role in developing AVID's programs, products, and services. Ellen joined AVID in 2005. During her tenure, she has supported districts in the Eastern Region, facilitated national and regional professional learning, and overseen professional learning and resource development and AVID Schoolwide. Throughout her career, Ellen has provided leadership to teachers in instruction and school reform and has taught at the elementary, middle, secondary, and postsecondary levels. 

Kelsey-packback

Kelsey Behringer, Packback CEO, has trained over 10,000 educators around the intersection of AI and pedagogy, helping educators implement best practices that advance student voice, agency, and purpose. She is the CEO of the education technology organization, Packback, which is an “AI writing tutor for every student and an AI grading assistant for every teacher.” She has held numerous roles at the organization from being an educator trainer, manager, director, VP, and COO before starting as CEO. Kelsey approaches her work through the lens of her experiences as a former STEM teacher in Chicago and Indianapolis. She is a Fast Company Executive Board contributor, and also hosts monthly webinars for teachers and professors where she gives recommendations about AI in the classroom.
