Are you ready to refresh, challenge your skills and capabilities, and build a successful community of practice? The National Instructional Leader Academy (NILA), brought to you by The School Superintendents Association (AASA) and AVID, is designed for district leaders charged with setting the vision and leading the implementation of instructional services, which may include teaching and learning, curriculum, accountability, and technology. Join us for the 2024 National Instructional Leader Academy from January 22 through May 1, 2024!
Participants will have the opportunity to become better leaders, build a stronger team, and network with talented district leaders and AVID staff from around the country. The academy consists of three in-person institutes, each spanning 3 days.
NILA emphasizes instruction, culture, and systems, focusing on equipping you with the knowledge and skills to drive real change in your district. It's an investment in your professional development and a chance to make a lasting impact. Elevate your leadership skills and become the instructional leader you aspire to be.
Successful participants will earn a prestigious AASA/AVID certification of completion, a sign of professional achievement that sets NILA apart from other leadership development programs.
Space is limited, and the application deadline is January 1, 2024. Take action today to secure your spot at NILA. Visit the AASA website for more information on how to apply.

Throughout this transitional year, both the new and existing WAG terms will remain accessible on MyAVID, ensuring teachers have the flexibility to choose between both WAG options. This approach guarantees minimal disruption in the delivery of AVID Elective instruction and allows districts time to adapt to the revised standards. As a reminder, the new WAG units are aligned with our revised AVID Elective Standards, which will take effect in 2024–2025, and include Google formats for most unit resources.
To guide you through implementing the new WAG terms, view our WAG one-pager for recommendations designed for AVID educators at every experience level.
