Derwin Farr is a seasoned education professional and a proud veteran of the US Army, where he dedicated four years of service to his country. With a strong commitment to education and leadership, Derwin has built an impressive career spanning over 26 years in various roles within the education system. Derwin earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education from South Carolina State University, laying the foundation for his passion for promoting physical fitness and well-being. Building upon his undergraduate success, he furthered his education at The Citadel, where he achieved a Master of Education in Educational Leadership, showcasing his dedication to advancing in the field of education.

Ms. Shanna C. White is a dedicated and accomplished educator, mentor, and administrator with a profound commitment to the well-being and academic success of children. Throughout her impactful career, she has devoted herself to serving in Title I schools, ensuring that everyone in her sphere reaches their maximum potential. Ms. White has excelled in various roles, starting as a Middle and High School English Teacher and progressing to become a lead teacher, department chair, and district facilitator for English Language Arts on the Secondary Level.

AVID Partner Engagement Manager

Bari Snyder is a Partner Engagement Manager specializing in working with small schools and districts in the eastern region. As a former high school ELA teacher and reading specialist, Bari brings a deep understanding of the educational landscape and the unique challenges faced by schools and districts. As an AVID Ambassador, Bari leverages her expertise to help potential AVID partners map out effective AVID implementations tailored to their specific needs and goals.

AVID Partner Engagement Manager

Frank is AVID Center's Partner Engagement Manager for the MASS-VI region. He came to AVID after 18 years as a teacher and administrator in New Jersey. Frank is a nationally recognized educator who won the Milken Educator Award in 2011 for his work in increasing student achievement and building strong partnerships with the community and parents. He believes that in order for students to succeed, there needs to be strong relational capacity between student-to-student, student-to-teacher, and teacher-to-parents.
