The cohort will meet virtually four times throughout the 2025–2026 school year, fostering a collaborative environment for reflection on application, refinement of plans, and mutual support. The experience will culminate with a capstone demonstration and celebration.

What Are the AVID Foundations of Instruction?

The AVID Foundations of Instruction are a guide to what educators do in the Instruction Domain to accelerate learning and deliver on the promise of the AVID College and Career Readiness Framework. The AVID Foundations of Instruction are a set of practices that guide the design and delivery of instruction so lessons engage by design, model rigor, accelerate learning, and develop agency. When educators implement the Foundations of Instruction, they create a high-impact learning environment where all learners develop skillsets and strategies to successfully access and engage challenging content while building the confidence to apply mindsets and behaviors that support their success in the classroom and beyond.

Educators will become highly skilled in developing:

  • Positive Relationships
  • Appropriate Environments
  • Diagnostic Teaching
